Delivery & Terms

At Nauticalia, we sell traditional nautical gifts and practical boating accessories on a wholesale basis to gift shops, museums, chandleries, etc. This website does not cater for personal customers who are asked to buy from our approved stockists (please call us on 01932 244396 or use the contact form for details of your nearest Nauticalia stockist).

How to Order
You can order online (www.nauticalia-trade-sales.com), e-mail (sales@nauticalia.com), or phone (01932 244396). We can also arrange for our agents to visit you. When using this website to place orders, we will not ask you for any payment online – once you submit your order, we will check our stocks and arrange payment with you by one of the methods below.

Prices
Prices shown exclude VAT and carriage and are subject to minimum order quantities specified.

Stock Holding
Most of the items shown are held in stock, ready for immediate dispatch. However, with more than 2,500 products in our range, it is inevitable that some items will be out of stock from time to time. In the event that an item is unavailable when you order, we will keep it on ‘backorder’ for you and contact you when it comes back into stock.

We do not automatically send low-value backorders free of charge. Instead, you will have the following options:
~ add to your order to meet the £300 free shipping threshold (£400 for Scottish Highlands & Islands)*
~ pay the shipping charge of £10 (£20 for Scottish Highlands & Islands)*
~ reserve your items on backorder until your next order
~ cancel backordered items if they are no longer required.
*UK customers

Estimated ‘back in stock’ dates are given in good faith but are not guaranteed. Such dates are approximate only and not of any contractual effect and Nauticalia shall not incur any liability by reasons of failure to deliver on any particular date.

The above carriage rates do not apply to the following, where carriage and packing will be charged at cost:

Carriage (Overseas)
Shipping costs depend on the size and weight of your packed order, and selection of most appropriate shipping method, and will be quoted separately upon receipt of your order. You can then decide whether to proceed.

Any customs charges incurred by Nauticalia during delivery overseas, including import taxes and administration charges, are to be covered by the buyer. All documentation is correctly supplied on overseas packaging but if any costs are incurred by the seller relating to the import of goods, these costs will be passed onto the buyer.

Credit Account Terms
Our standard payment terms are via proforma invoice.  This means you pay for the goods before the items are packed and dispatched via one of the methods below.

Credit terms are available for regular trade customers. Invoices will be due for payment by the 25th of the month following the month of invoice (e.g. orders invoiced in May will be due for payment by 25th June). To apply for a credit account, please fill in the Credit Account Form including trading references. It may take up to 14 days to administer and set up a credit account. This facility may be withdrawn at any time if payments are not made by the due date. Goods remain the title of Nauticalia Ltd until paid for in full.

Please note that should we make a search with a credit reference agency, that agency will keep a record of that search and will share that information with other businesses. We may also make enquiries about the principal directors with a credit reference agency.

Payment
Payment can be made by any of the following methods:
~ Debit or Credit Card – You can make credit/debit card payments using the Stripe link on your invoice or over the phone on 01932 244396. You will need your card number, its expiry date, and the CVV number. All your transactions are secure and will be kept confidential.
~ Bank Transfer - Use the details printed on your invoice/statement payment slips to pay by BACS.
~ Cheque – Please make your cheque payable to Nauticalia Ltd. Write your invoice number, name and address clearly on the back. Place your unfolded cheque into an envelope and post it to our accounts at: Nauticalia Ltd, The Ferry Point, Ferry Lane, Shepperton, TW17 9LQ.

Returns and Cancelled Orders
There is no automatic right to return stock or cancel orders. In the event of us agreeing to accept returns or an order cancellation a handling fee of 20% will be implemented, and all other costs involved in returning stock will be charged (freight, cleaning, etc). This clause also relates to goods seized in the event of us enforcing our retention to title. Items that have been personalised may not be returned for credit unless they are faulty.

Loss or Damage in Transit
Customers must notify us within two days of arrival of any breakages or losses during transit. Customers signing for receipt of goods should check them first or add a disclaimer to the receipt. In the case of damaged goods, the goods and the original packaging must be retained for inspection by the carrier and our insurers. Notification outside this time period may invalidate any insurance claim. In the event of goods being returned, carriage arrangements must be agreed with Nauticalia beforehand.

Direct Despatch Terms
We do not operate a drop-ship service, but will occasionally send items directly to your customers if it helps you to secure a sale. Goods will be supplied at our trade unit (not volume) prices, with a handling charge of £4 per order. Carriage will be charged at our current rate plus 10% (minimum £10 combined).

A further handling charge of £4 will be made for all returns, refused deliveries and/or return to senders. We will not arrange, or pay for, returns to be collected. We generally do not despatch goods directly to your overseas customers - they should be sent to you to check and forward on. If we agree to send goods to an overseas address then we will not be responsible for damages, failed deliveries, wrong products sent, or goods not wanted.

Descriptions, Images, and Measurements
Descriptions and images are correct at the time of publication. Products supplied may vary slightly from those shown, in particular hand-made items which depend on the artist’s mood. All measurements, weights, and capacities shown are approximate. Please contact us for more accurate dimensions if you have a specific need.

Use of product images and copy
We are happy for customers to use our logos, product images, and copy in connection with the promotion and sale of Nauticalia products – on your websites, catalogues and press releases for example. However, they, and our trading names and styles, must not be used in connection with goods from any other source.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations
We offer our customers the option to return old electrical and electronic products (WEEE items) on a like-for-like basis when you buy an equivalent item from us. This applies to items that contain electrical or electronic components. For example, if you buy an electronic weather station from us, we will be delighted to take back from you your old electronic weather station and arrange the correct waste disposal of the unit, including correct handling of the electronic components, thus protecting the environment from unnecessary electronic or electrical waste.

An item can be passed to us either at the point of purchase, or within 28 days thereafter. If returning afterwards you will need to show your proof of purchase of the new item. You can do this at one of our shops, or by post to our head office address, Nauticalia Ltd, Ferry Lane, Shepperton, TW17 9LQ either in person or by post/carrier company. Customers wishing to return a WEEE item must pay for any costs incurred in returning the item to us.

Please do not throw electrical equipment (including those items marked with this symbol) in your bin.

This is because:
~ Unwanted electrical equipment is the UKs fastest growing type of waste.

~ If you do not recycle electrical items they will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination - harming wildlife and also human health.

~ The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires EC member countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items.

Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations
Under the Waste Battery Regulations, Nauticalia now offer a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries. You can return your waste batteries to our head office address, Nauticalia, Ferry Lane, Shepperton, TW17 9LQ, in person during normal office hours. Please do not post such items.

Alternatively, you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility at www.recyclenow.com. Most supermarkets and larger electrical shops that sell batteries will often have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls and libraries may also have collection points. Most council waste transfer sites (“the tip"/ “the dump”) have battery recycling.
